Louis is a consultant in the Property Department of the firm and specialises in township and commercial developments which includes the preparation and drafting of complicated sale agreements and servitudes and the obtaining of land use approvals from the Local Authority
With more than 40 years’ experience practicing as an attorney and conveyancer, Louis has covered all aspects of conveyancing, from transfers of residential land, registration of home-loans and covering bonds to sheriff transfers of land sold in execution and transfers from insolvent / deceased estates.
Louis served for 15 years on the Property Law Committee of the now defunct Cape Law Society and played a valuable role in dealing with the Registrar of Deeds in respect of matters affecting conveyancers in general and also with the rates department of the City of Cape Town on ongoing issues involving rates clearances. Although the Property Law Committee has been disbanded, Louis is still approached by the City from time to time on issues affecting the profession.
Through his wealth of experience he has developed exceptional client-care skills together with a strong verbal and written communication skills. He always strives to protect the interests of both the seller and purchaser to ensure a smooth transfer process all the way to finalisation of registration.
Louis spends most of his spare time riding his mountain bike and his holiday destinations are usually game reserves in South Africa or neighbouring countries. He is also a keen photographer.
